Wind turbine application

Wind Turbine Lubrication Temperature Control

Thermostatic control valves regulate cooler and bypass flow as gearbox lubricant temperature changes, without external electrical power.

System function

Temperature-driven routing for gearbox lubrication and cooling.

A temperature-sensitive, replaceable thermal element moves the valve mechanism as lubricant temperature changes. The valve automatically directs flow between cooler and bypass paths, helping the lubrication circuit respond to cold start, transition and hot-oil conditions.

Cold Oil

Bypass Cooler

Directs the primary flow around the cooler while the lubricant is below the transition range.

02

Transition Range

Modulated / Mixed Flow

Divides flow between the bypass and cooler paths as the thermal element moves through its operating stroke.

03

Hot Oil

Flow Through Cooler

Directs the primary flow through the oil cooler after the lubricant reaches the upper operating region.
